I am Argentine, I want to understand the cost of health care in the USA

In Argentina we have a public healthcare system and although it is not ideal, you could live without private health care (a lot of people do this).

Also, there are paid medicine plans and there are people who pay for them here. They do this more than anything to have more agility in medical consultations, and better quality in instruments and hospitals.

For older adults, with less than 100 USD per month, you can already have one of these private plans.

My question is, how much do these plans cost in the USA? Do they have any additional consideration to keep in mind that I may not be seeing? (Example: less sickness coverage, payment of additional fees, etc.)

(Just in case, I clarify that I am talking about a situation in which you obviously do not have a job in a dependency relationship that already covers health care, which is common here in Argentina at least)

I'm sorry in advance if the question sounds ridiculous, I'm very curious from Argentina to understand this, and plan my retirement from this side of the world accordingly, thank you! submitted by /u/FireArgentina
