Investments in Retirement?

Hi all,

Long time listener, first time caller. My mom is planning to retire sometime next year and I just heard that she rolled over her entire 401k into an IRA in a CD ladder. I'm a bit mortified, but I'm still in the VOO and chill phase of my life and I plan to chubbyFIRE at minimum, so I've never really considered how retirement accounts should be invested once you hit retirement age.

If you're retired (rather lean), I would appreciate your insight.Thank you!
